AfricaShowAm is a pan-African business directory platform operated from the United Kingdom. We connect African businesses on the continent and in the diaspora with customers worldwide. Our website is africashowam.com. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at info@africashowam.com.
When you list your business on AfricaShowAm, we collect: your business name, your name, your email address, your phone number, your business category, your country, a description of your business, and optionally your website and social media links. We also collect analytics data such as how many times your business profile is viewed, and technical data such as device type and approximate country of visitors.
We use your information to: display your business listing on AfricaShowAm, send you confirmation emails and updates about your listing, notify you when your listing is approved or spotlighted, allow customers to contact you directly, improve the platform and understand how it is being used, and contact you about AfricaShowAm features and updates. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
We share your business contact details (name, phone, email, website) publicly on your business profile page so that customers can reach you. Your personal data is processed by: Supabase (database hosting, based in the US with EU data processing), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (website hosting). All our processors operate under appropriate data protection agreements.
We keep your listing data for as long as your listing is active on AfricaShowAm. If you ask us to remove your listing, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Analytics data is kept for up to 12 months. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@africashowam.com.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct any inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to how we use your data, and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@africashowam.com. We will respond within 30 days.
AfricaShowAm uses only essential cookies necessary for the website to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. For more details see our Cookie Policy.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database provider Supabase uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of AfricaShowAm after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
